Welcome to our dedicated page for Motor Bikers
The first bikers to stay with us in the summer of 2006 were a Dutch couple Frank and Elizabeth. The came upon our B&B whilst on their travels around the beautiful Ring of Beara and had a motor bike and sidecar, I will never forget them as they were shall we say not in their first flush of youth and had painted on the sidecar ‘Aged to Perfection’ and I can honestly say they absolutely were. They came to stay for 1 night and ended up staying for three and it was a delight to have them. After their visit we decided that we would try and get more ‘characters’ like them to come and visit so we began advertising on biking websites and since doing so have had more and more coming year on year and as word is now getting around our reputation is beginning to grow so fingers crossed it continues.
When we first began we had a gravel entrance and driveway but quickly realised that it wasn’t user friendly for motor bikes, so we had it replaced with tarmac and during the autumn of 2012 built a fully lit undercover hard standing which takes 5 – 6 motorcycles. We endeavour to do our best to help out getting your gear dry for the following day, should the weather have been inclement!!!!
As we are classic car enthusiasts we have a well equipped garage with all facilities and even a helping hand should Peter be around.
We advertise with Bike-stay on www.bike-stay.net and they have a very good site for worldwide 'Biker Friendly' accommodation. This is the listing to our actual location on their web http://www.bike-stay.net/ireland/acc.kenmare.html We also advertise on Beds 4 Bikers www.beds4bikers.com So why not take a look on their sites and find out more about us.
The area is well known by bike enthusiasts and the annual Harley Davidson Bike Fest takes part in Killarney usually over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
The Wild Atlantic Driving Route is a new initiative by the Irish Tourist Board and provides information and routes for the South West Coast of Ireland. It is hoped that this will be completely up and running for 2014.
